Jessica and Michael's 10/10/09 Wedding

The lovely couple, Jessica and Mike

Well, you know I’ve become pretty darn attached to a bride when I cry at the wedding…it hadn’t happened in a while, but Jessica was just so happy, sincere and sweet I couldn’t help it! Every time her eyes welled up, mine did too! Jessica and Mike were both so fun to work with! And, Jessica’s mom, Betsy was the icing on the cake. I love it when a mom supports her daughter through the process with utmost sincerity, only wanting to make her daughters wishes come true! It makes for a happy bride, a happy planner and a stunning wedding!

Jessica and Mike were married at Saint John The Baptist in Folsom, where they had a full mass. Father O’Kelley was quite the character and made the ceremony sweet, light and lovely! We lined the aisle with rose petals (which I later crawled on my knees and picked up), had beautiful pew and altar arrangements from Visual Impact that consisted of ivory hydrangeas and the hand made letters J and M, tied with a plum bow adorning the entrance.

The reception followed at the Coloma Country Inn, where the design and decor were much more chic than shabby, but with a very antiquish look. There were chandeliers hanging over the head table and dance floor and we decorated the swing, which has a backdrop of the lake, with Jessica’s wedding colors and flowers.  There were decorative elements throughout that really reflected Jessica’s style! I think my favorite piece was the old shutter that I found at an antique store and repurposed for use as a place card holder. It was in sad shape when I found it! So, I painted it ivory, adorned it with some flower details that look like they were carved in wood and added an antique crystal door knob to the top to make it shine! You will see it featured below in the photos by Jessica Moores of Stout Photography…who, by the way knocked my socks off with these LOVELY photos!!!! I hope to work with Jessica again in the future. She really captured the essence and style of this wedding just perfectly!

The night was complete with music from one of my absolute favorite DJ’s, Joe Kalamaras of SJ’s Disc Jockeys. The dance floor was packed all night long! When the groomsmen surprised us with a dance to Beyonce’s Single Ladies, I almost fell on the ground laughing. It was hillarious and very entertaining! At the end of the night, no one wanted to go home! Darn those noise ordinances that shut us down at 10:00!

I wish Jessica and Michael a long and happy life together! Good times, great memories!

Tim and Amanda's Winery Wedding!

Amanda and Tim's Horse and Carriage

On September 26th, Tim and Amanda were married at the LOVELY Wilson Vineyards in Clarksburg, CA. Amanda came to me 14 months before her wedding date and we worked on every detail of this wedding together, from start to finish! Amanda wanted a fall themed wedding in a glamorous setting that reflected her style and personality.  We made sure to include a couple of elements that were specifically tailored to Tim as well, such as the grooms cake and the limo ride with the guys that was a “must have” for him!

Their monogram was infused throughout the wedding on the invitations, the menus, the cake topper, the guest book,  the lighted M on the dance floor and a very special one made of flowers on the aisle runner.  It was a classy, elegant and fun event, complete with flowers designed by Audrey of Botanica Floral Designs, cakes by The Sweetest Things, linens, chargers and all rentals by Simply Elegant Rentals and Decor, photography by Allison Stahl video by Sheffield Multimedia, and music by Bryan Greenwalt of Music and More.

It was a beautiful evening on the Delta! The bride was stunning in her Jim Hjelm dress, the moon was full, and the wine was flowing. It was Amanda’s dream come true, and a perfect evening for Tim as well. Love was in the air for sure!!

"Plan A" Events Wedding Division is changing their name!

Keep an eye out for our new name transformation happening soon! We are very excited to launch our new name, web site and our very “Chic” new look!

Why the change? “Plan A” Events initially started out with the idea that we would have a pretty large focus on corporate events, due to our vast background and experience in that area. However, we have happily found that not only has our wedding business taken off so successfully, but our true passion is in Wedding Planning. Weddings are what we have been primarily working on for the past few years and what we hope to do a lot more of in the future!

So, to us it made sense to split off “Plan A” to continue to cater to the corporate client and unveil our new name for our Wedding Services. Our new name, “2Chic Events and Design” fits what we do to a T – Weddings that are Simply Chic and Fabulously Unique! 2Chic will focus solely on Wedding Planning and Design and will be taking on a more feminine, “Chic” look that reflects our style and what we do just perfectly!
