Rachel & Tyson {Sneak Peek Photo}

Ummm, yes. I did drool on this photo when I saw it! Aaron Draper of Draper Studios has pretty much knocked my socks off with this one and I can hardly sleep waiting to see the rest! Rachel & Tyson’s wedding on April 24th was absolutely beautiful in every way, and they are a couple that I will never forget. The rainy weather broke just long enough to give them a beautiful day with periods of stunningly dramatic sky! They were wonderful to work with from beginning to end ~ the type of couple that I hate to say goodbye to so quickly. Although, we will surely keep in touch! Stand by for more photos next week!

Inspired by: Walk the Line {Johnny & June}

Today, my inspiration comes from one of my favorite movies ~ Walk the Line. I’m a sucker for a turbulent love story ~ so of course I loved the movie! And, well…in real life, I cried when Johnny died. I loved him like I knew him. His music has been integrated into so many parts of my life, especially as a youngster growing up in the country. Yes, I was country when country wasn’t cool. What can I say?

My husband and I share some serious country roots and a deep-seated love for Johnny and June. We’ve even dressed as them for Halloween. But, surprisingly it was my husbands idea to incorporate this love into our {someday} vow renewals or the celebration of our 10th anniversary, where we will undoubtedly be going back to our roots. Will this work on the beach in Mexico? We shall see and I can’t wait!

The inspiration board below is based on one of my favorite icons, one of my favorite movies and my husband’s sweet thoughts of our pending celebrations. I would have loved to have seen June wearing yellow {although she looked good in just about anything}. I was also drawn to wildflowers, woodsy accents that remind me of Tennessee, vintage guitars, home made jams and pie ~ and one smokin’ hot cowboy! Enjoy y’all!

Mothers Day {Meet my Kiddos!}

Most people know that I’m a Mom, but probably rarely imagine me running kids to school in the early hours of the morning, shoosh-ing a 4 year old during after hours phone calls, or driving around with 4 teenagers in my car, acting like complete fools! Welcome to my crazy life! Yep, I am the proud mom of a 4 year old and a 16 year old {and yes, I am young enough and old enough to have kids of their age!}.

Its actually a very nice balance that we have going on over here and I wouldn’t change a thing! They make me laugh {hard!}, make my want to pull my hair out, and most of all, make me thankful for their love. They both should have been named “Mr. Personality” but we went for Jonah {4} and Asher {16}. Enjoy a little glimpse into my silly, crazy, wonderful world via the photos below that make me laugh every time I see them. These photos {taken with my iPhone while I laughed uncontrollably ~ hence the bad quality} of my Dos Muchachos were taken during dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant and I’m not sure I’ve ever laughed so hard!

Brooch Bouquet With a Twist {Love It}

Back in December, I blogged about a fabulous new trend,  brooch bouquets, after running across Fantasy Floral’s amazing creations in a wedding magazine. Well, it appears that I was onto something hot! It’s one of the most frequently read posts on my blog. So, I wanted to take a moment to share a local resource with everyone. Shannon with Flourish Designs here in Sacramento was also inspired by the very same bouquets! But, being the wonderfully unique individual that she is, she has added her own twist and created something magnificent! I love the addition of fresh flowers! Check out the photos and Shannon’s story below!

“I came across the beautiful brooch bouquets designed by the wonderful Fantasy Floral.  I loved everything about her brooch bouquets. What a beautiful and special way to use sentimental pieces to make your bridal bouquet.  Most of her bouquets are made from pieces she collects from the client.  The client provides her with jewelry, brooches and other pieces from her family members and Fantasy Floral then works the jewelry pieces into a special bouquet the bride carries down the aisle.”

“I decided to use the same idea but give it my own twist by adding fresh flowers.  These bouquets are actually using all the same jewelry.  I just re-worked them into two different bouquets.  The jewelry is 1/2 vintage pieces from my grandmother and great-grandmother and 1/2 new pieces.  I had such an amazing time designing these bouquets.  They were even more amazing in person.  Total show stoppers.”

{Just Life} ~ 5 Things I Believe With All My Heart

I rarely get personal on my blog, but I wanted to share this post with you today. It’s kind of like Oprah’s Things I Know For Sure {which I LOVE!}, except I’m not Oprah and I’m not sure if I know these things, but I do strongly believe them! And, I think it’s important to have a list like this to live by!

1. Sunshine, laughter and good music are the best medicine for any ailment! If those don’t work, a nice glass of wine usually does the trick!

2. 90% of stress is self inflicted and unnecessary. I believe that asking for help, saying screw ‘em if they can’t take a joke and being honest and true to yourself, without guilt, are the best ways to avoid stress. Easier said than done. I know!

3. Jealousy is a condition that almost all of us are afflicted with on some level. I believe that it either inspires you to do better, wears you down or causes you to act like a complete jerk ~ it’s your choice what you do with it!

4. When you make the right decision, you don’t have to explain anything. {My favorite saying of all time!} A long winded story or excuse almost always indicates guilt.

5. Lastly, I believe that finding balance in life is hard as hell but should be attained. Family first, work second and everything else last {in an ideal world!}. I totally admire strong women with a great sense of balance and I think I’m almost there…If you have tips, I’d love to hear them!

What do you believe with all your heart? Please share!
